History
- 1872년 University College Wales, Aberystwyth로 설립
- 1893년 영국 왕립헌장에 의해 왕립학교로 제정되어 1896년 영국 왕세자를 총장으로 추대, 당시 총리인 윌리엄 글래드스톤에게 명예학위를 수여
- 1901년 웨일즈 지역 최초로 법학과 개설
- 2007년 웨일즈 대학에서 분리 독립
